The Chunk-inator

Chunko has reached 24 pounds and 31 inches. He has been sick and lost some weight and he hit a plateau for almost two months. But now he's gained a pound, so we're back on track.

He's attempting to stand on his own by pulling himself up and then letting go. He seems more surprised than we are when he actually succeeds and stands on his own for those few seconds.
He loves pushing things around our kitchen and has officially re-arranged our furniture. He just gets bored and decides that Daddy's cooler needs to be in front of the oven and not neatly by the door. Or that Brother's table needs to be in the living room and not the kitchen. The other day he brought me his high chair because he was hungry and I wasn't moving fast enough. He went to the kitchen, and pushed his chair almost out the front door!

We bought him a walking toy to help him along but he has absolutely no interest in it at all. Like zip, zero, zilch!

He's cruising the furniture now. He walks along one couch and then the other and has been making laps around his brother's table. He's also learning how to climb. He tries to sit at the table (which is so darn cute!!!!) but he can't get his butt on the chair. He tries to get in the tub but only manages to throw his binky's in there. I don't know what his binky has to do with getting his leg up but he feels they are connected.
I was worried and saddened at first but now I"m excited. I can't wait til our little chubby butt is roaming freely! I already know that in a month when he's in EVERYTHING I'll be eating these words but I'm still looking forward to it.

Chunko has two little teeth now and I think he's about to pop a third soon. He's munching and crunching and just dying to use his teethies for grinding himself some of our food.

I'm so ecstatic!!! We're going to Disneyland for New Year's Eve!!!!!

It's been too long since we went and it should be so much more fun than the last time. We went when we first moved in together and the kids almost killed each other. Good times. I was thisclose to throwing them off the top of Splash Mountain!
This will be Geekers's second trip and Chunko's first. I know he won't remember too much of it but I know he'll love all the new sights. And I am very eager to take him to the beach. He is going to poop his little diaper when he sees all that water!!! It's the biggest "bathtub" ever and he'll want in! Maybe he'll even walk to it!

We're nowhere near ready for Christmas. We haven't even started shopping yet. We decorated the tree and Chunko tried to eat our ornaments, so we're in the spirit.

So remember people, stay cool...
Cause Chunko is!

Cause I'm Blue

Thanks to my AMAZING sister, we got to surprise my step-girl with the "Blue Man Group"...
Being the evil genius kind person I am, I played it up to the fullest. We picked her up and didn't tell her where we going...
We blindfolded her as soon as she got in the car. She didn't know where we were or what was happening. I loved every second of it!!

First we took her to dinner and we had really good food. We played with Benderoos and took a thousand pictures (breaking in the new camera and all). Then we told her it was time for her really big surprise... We blindfolded her again (and I think I deserve credit for not making her eat with it on) and we took her to.....
Haagen Daz!!
The look on her face was so priceless. It was the "I am surprised because this stinks and not what I was expecting but I'm going to smile big anyways" look.
We ate our nummy sugary treats and then it was showtime.
We blindfolded her yet again....

We made her stand in line with it on, take a seat and sit there for 15 minutes with it on. She was trying to guess where we were, who was with us, if something was going to hit her.
We finally whipped the blindfold off and *TaDa*
Blue Man Group!!!!!!
We laughed, we "Oohed", we "Ahhed"
It was so much fun.
We had a lot of help for our surprise and I am so thankful that everyone worked to make this evening so special.
Thanks you guys!

A huge thank you goes to my sister for doing all this for us!!!!

I'm Hangin' On

I
Am
So
Effin
SICK!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so sick of being sick, it makes me just... Sick!
I have been runny nose, dry painful coughing for FIVE weeks!
Five weeks of coughing until I have a migraine
Five weeks of Moose Mating Call jokes
Five weeks of coughing until I vomit (ooh sexy)
Five weeks of Nyquil before bed
Five weeks of not being able to breathe
Five weeks of red runny nose pain

It's too much! And now... I think I've caught somehting else because my nose is running all over again.
I am trying to stay positive and I get excited every morning when I wake up because I swear "today is the day I am going to be better" and then I cough, and sneeze and hack and I know that today is not the day...

Bleh!

On the plus side... I am down to 173!
I would be a high 172 if I could have found a way to lose 1 ounce this morning but whatever... I'm not mad... (I am but I'm hiding it)
I have narrowed down the times I check the scale. I am only allowing myself two times a day. I am eating a bit more but it's hard because I can't breathe (from stuffy nose and hacking cough) and I just do not have an appetite on most days.
I did have a mini freak out last night... I wanted to paint my nails but I was worried that if I did it was going to add weight. But I am really proud of myself, I didn't weigh myself before and after I painted them and I haven't been freaking out over the "accuracy" of my scale numbers... Yay me! I now have fabulous pink toenails (and nude finger nails)!!!! I feel so feminine.

We got a new camera and I LOVE it!!! I was worried since it's a very simple point-and-shoot but it takes pretty nice shots... I have been taking pictures like crazy... Worse than before. I have felt so deprived (and a little depressed) and I am making up for lost time!

Beware my little pretties, I am back!!!!!

The Reality Of It All

I didn't get to weigh myself for two days and I thought I was going to have a panic attack...
That's two whole days of not knowing how much I've gained or lost...

Then I realized...
No matter how much I've denied it or claimed I've got control of it...
It's here..
I am fighting anorexia.

I hate saying that. I feel sick just thinking that it's true.

I weigh myself in the mornings
I weigh myself before I go to sleep
I weigh myself fully clothed
I weigh myself after I eat dinner
I weigh myself nude

I shave my legs and brush my hair in hopes that it'll help me lose an ounce or two

I pray that I'll catch the stomach flu (why is it you never get sick when you want to?)
I wish that I could drag my scale to work with me so I could weigh myself after lunch
I went until 4pm before I got hungry one day and I was excited that I could go so long without eating

I am down to 179 but I haven't even started working out as I have promised. I've been sick and I have a hard time breathing but it's just an excuse.

The stupid part about this is that I don't think I'm fat. No really, I don't. I just want to fit my old clothes again. If I was forever stuck at 179 I wouldn't cry. Well, I would but only after I spent lots of money buying a whole new wardrobe to fit my new body. I hate wearing my maternity pants because they're my only work pants that fit me. I hate wearing the same shirts every week. I hate not wearing cute little button downs and blazers....

I have amazing self-confidence.
I know I am not the most attractive person but I know that my love finds me sexy and his opinion is all that matters to me. I am never (Never) going to be a size 2. I'll probably never be less than a 12.
But that works for me.
I have a little waist (usually, not now) and humongous hips.
FYI: Marilyn Monroe was a size 12, too.
I can joke about my size because I'm confident in my body.
Do I really think I"m a whale? Uh, no

Regardless of my confidence I can't seem to stop worrying about the numbers.
I've got to see lower numbers.
Something struck me wrong when I was watching "What's Eating You" and mentally jotting down tips... Chalk doesn't taste too bad, right?

As much as I hate admitting it, I have to.
If I put it out there then I can't hide it.
I can't pretend that I had a big lunch and I'm just not hungry.
I can't pretend anymore and I need that.

Please don't take this as a "Tell me I'm skinny" thing or a "Tell me that you wish you were my size" thing...
Again, I don't think I'm fat... I just wish my effing scale would agree with me!!!

DIY First Timers

So these are the latest additions to our home.
We plan on sanding them down and repainting them...
But we don't know what color to paint them.

Our household colors run towards sand, chocolate, and light green (somehow?) and a maple wood for accents and cabinetry.
I took pictures of the items themselves and then of the area where we plan on stashing them...

On that note
We're putting it into your hands...
So... What color do we pick?
Do we paint both the same color as they are on opposite sides of the room or do we just go nuts and paint them different colors?

Six Month Celebrations

Today is your 6 month birthday!!!

You are far surpassing all of your dad's and my expectations and we couldn't be happier... Or sadder.
You're personality is so strong and you are soaring through all your little milestones.

I want to hug you and squish you and love you!!

You are currently at 25.8 pounds and 31 inches. I could have sworn you had reached 32 1/2 but I guess Mommy measured bad you shrunk. You are barely fitting 12 month clothing anymore and we're now starting the slow switch to 18 month. You realize that diapers are still only made up to size 7, right? You're already at 5 and those are getting a little tight. You might want to slow down, I'm just saying.

You have conquered crawling and as soon as your feet hit the ground you are gone. You typically go for the speaker wires first, then the door stoppers and your last hope for trouble is Mommy's urn. If you've been stopped from your three favorites, you tend to test out a shoe or two, sometimes even a backpack strap. Your ultimate goal is the remote, of course. You want to get your chubby little hands on one so bad....

You are determined to stand on your own. Pulling yourself up and holding onto things is just not good enough anymore. You are so independent. You "allow" us the privilege of holding our hands until you're steady and then you let go... Amazingly enough, you fall on your little diapered booty.
More and more often now, though, you are staying up. It's only for a few seconds, but it's enough to make our hearts stop.
The more you go to your favorite sitter's house, the more stuff you see and want to do. Her youngest is walking and now you seem to think you can, too. The only problem with that, is that he is 6 months older!!!

Please don't celebrate your 7 month birthday with your first step... Please?
I'll buy you chocolate!!
Or a remote just for you!!
Or Speaker wire!!
Or a car!!
Whatever, just please don't walk yet!!

You are learning who's family and how to get the most attention possible.
We went to a restaurant... okay fine, McDonald's... Mommy took you to McDonald's!! You were being mean and fussy (I blame the boogerz, you blame me) and the older three were being insane in the house. You'll appreciate my lack of patience when you're old enough to enjoy the playplace....
Anyways...
We went to McDonald's and you were sitting in your highchair, eating and chatting away when you suddenly threw your toy on the floor. You leaned down to get it, but obviously way too high to reach... A stranger taking pity on you, picked it up and handed it back to you...
Then your eyes twinkled...
You had struck gold...
As the next innocent stranger started to pass, you threw your toy down and pretended to reach for it.. And she picked it up. Told you that you were a cutie and in return you give her big smiles...
Poor people at McDonald's never saw you coming. You played that game for about thirty minutes.
As your brother before you and your sister before him, you never tire of attention.
Welcome to the family, Chunko, you are officially a ham

* You give open mouthed kisses (after Mommy tortures you)
* You love wrestling
* You lift your arms up for hugs
* You refuse to be left out during dinner time (if you're napping, you will wake up as soon as we all sit)
* You love your bath and no one is allowed to even think of running water without plans on putting you in it. This includes doing the dishes or Mommy/ Daddy's shower times.
* Mirror Baby is your best friend and you love saying "Good Morning" and "Good Night" to him
* If we take you out to eat, there is reason (as far you are concerned) why you can't jump onto other people's tables and share food
* If you're mad at Mommy, you know to pull her hair... That's not your nicest trick
Your smile brightens my day and your laugh melts my heart
Happy Half Year Birthday Chunko!!!!!!!

My Body My Burden

As most new mommies do, I'm complaining about my weight...
Again...
Again again....

*Warning*
A woman is about to post not only her real weight and dress size but she will also be sharing a real (not photo shopped) picture of her scale
*Warning*

The day I gave birth I was up to 223. I went down to 203 when I got home. I've been battling to get out of the 190's for months now. I get all the way down to 192 and shoot back up to 200.
Then the war was getting as far away from 190 as I could...

Well, my beautiful people... I am 183!!!!!!!
I am not including the 8 oz and neither are you!

I have managed to lose about 20 pounds and that's without exercising. So I have decided to start doing a for real exercise regimen. I really want to see my old weight of 150 and I am determined to get there as healthy as possible.
Starting this week (not today cause it's Halloween and I want CANDY!!!) I am going to be allowing Jillian Michaels to abuse me. On the days I can't take any more, I am going to take long walks. Since I am not a fan of cold and winter is coming, I have a feeling I will be working with Jillian a lot.

My love is getting back on the P90X routine so we'll be able to support each other and reach our goals!!
Bleh, that sounds too gushy for me...
I would do the P90X with him, but it's not my style... Besides Jillian's kicked my butt a few times already helped me lose a few pounds.

I am having a really hard time fighting my battle with anorexia. I really hate exercising and it's so easy to just not eat food...
I tried a food journal... Oh really bad idea.
For all the anorexics out there... Food journal = Bad
I see how much food I've eaten and it makes me nauseous. I quit that immediately.

I do my best to remain active during the day but my job requires a lot from me so when I get home I am tired... I want to sleep.

My goal is to be 150 for Chunko's first birthday... Actually I would be out of my mind with happiness if I reached it before my birthday. Then I could go shopping!! And not look like a wreck and wear sweats all day long (eeewww... track suits).

To keep me on track and to make sure I am finally doing as I say, I going to be posting my weight loss journey. I hate to be one of those people but suck it up.
I will also be posting progress pictures. I don't really want to put fatty 2x4 pics but it'll help encourage me to get off the couch and squat or throw in a jumping jack or two.

I am asking that my friends and family hold me accountable and bug the crud out of me to help me on this horrible journey... Should be fun...
 (enter sarcastic "Yay" here)

Besides the sooner I'm skinny, the sooner I can stop whining about my rolls... Come on people, here's your inspiration! Want me to whine some more?

So off I trek to go work out... All the while chanting:
Raviolis and a Nap!!!

Oh yeah.... Dress size... I forgot...
I'm sure it was an accident or a slip of a forgetful mind

You're 8 Years Old Already?!?!

On the eve of October 28th, I sat in bed looking through 4 years of baby pictures shoving my face full of chocolate and crying.
My baby bug, My Geekers, My brilliant little baby was no more...
He's all grown up to a tall, skinny, uber intelligent 8 year old... With a red mohawk.
I'm trying not to get all teary again. I never thought it would be so hard to see him all grown up! I thought each step he took would bring me pride and happiness but I cry a lot through his milestones...

So kid, here's to you:

Geekers, you used to play outside all day, everyday. Come rain or shine, you were at the back screen door yelling your demands to be let free.
You had toys to play with and rocks to eat!

You were a water baby, Geekers. You loved your little backyard pool and floatie. What this picture doesn't show is your little lip trembling because the water is so cold. You refused to be told "No" and if you wanted in the water, you were going in.
You did about 75,852,964 laps around this pool.
Your floatie eventually popped when your first few teeth came in.
A warning to give your future kids, floaties are not chew toys, especially when you're currently in it.

You were a very chunky baby, Geekers. You were all rolls and we used to call you the Michelin Man. When it was bath time (which you loved!!) we had to make sure to clean every roll in your arms and legs... and there were lots of rolls.

Geekers, nothing has changed about how you sleep. You sleep with enthusiasm. You throw your arms out and wherever you land is where you'll stay. You ended up breaking your crib because you were so heavy and sleeping on one of the slats, and it eventually gave out... Then you graduated to a your own big boy bed!

Your first word was "Uh-Oh" and the first recognition word you said was "Water"...
Your first steps were on Pop-Pop's birthday at 9 months...
You used to wake in the mornings and wear your robe out of the room so that you could go make coffee with Jamma and watch the sunrise....
You terrorized the cats and you ran with the ferrets...
You got in the fridge and splattered soy sauce all over the kitchen but you were so cute and so sweet that you didn't swatted for it...
For the past three years, you've had straight A's in school, every report card...
You get along with everyone even though you can be a huge smart ass...

You stole my heart on October 29, 2002 at 6:18 am...
You were and will always be perfection to me
Love you always with all my heart, Mommy

Heart Full Of Love

When we found out that we were expecting a new bundle of joy one of our first thoughts was
"How is Ham-Da going to take this?"
Over the past 4 years (and 5 months) we have had several struggles in bringing our family together and making sure everyone is happy and included and feels like they're a part of it all.
The biggest struggle is blending stepkids with half siblings and stepparents and ex's and all of that crud that comes with marrying someone who has kids already.
When we told her the good news, she took it really well, although she told us we weren't allowed to have a girl...

She admitted that she was scared about her time and her place in our family and how it would change but she was willing to take it one step at a time with us and see what happens.

We were worried that she was going to feel like her dad was starting a new family and that she was going to replaced. Or that she would worry  that she wasn't going to have time with just her dad (or myself) anymore.
There were those concerns, but not from her, oddly enough, but that's something else.

After we had Chunko, we braced ourselves. We were ready to deal with whatever she needed and handle any problems....

There have been none (so far).
She comes to our house and picks Chunko up and doesn't put him down until her last smooch when we take her home.
She begs to hold him and feed him all day long.
We know he's heavy but she'll wait until her arms get weak before she'll hand him back over.
She gets upset when we put him to bed too early.
She even asks to help with diaper duty... Now that's love!
I am so happy and incredibly thankful that it's somehow worked out without a single issue.
I am so glad that she loves him as if they were full blood siblings. There's never once been a question about their love for each other.

All I gotta say is "Thank goodness we did not have a girl, lol!!!!!!"

Breaking The Rules

I need to start with saying that I am not a big fan of writing about the little speed bumps that come up in our marriage...
#1 Because I don't want to be one of "those" people that put every little fart or spat they have on the internet for everyone to see for eternity
#2 Our disagreements are not attention worthy
#3 He hasn't cheated on me (and won't, this I know with certainty)
#4 My ex hasn't shown up pregnant
#5 I didn't knock him out with a baseball bat
#6 He hasn't sped away into oblivion while rocking out to "Every Rose Has Its Thorn"

With that being said, I've been a bad wife.

The good news is that my doctor does not think that I have post partum depression like I thought before but rather I have anxiety... Um.... yay?
She thinks that I was hiding it before and that the hormonal changes I've been going through are not allowing me to cover it up like I used to be able to.

I've still been a bad wife.

I am starting to journal again and I am doing my best to reduce the stress in my life. It's hard when it feels like everything is just too much to handle. I'm learning to communicate to my husband and tell him what I need before the fangs come out, my hair stands on end and I start shreiking absurdities at him I start to become angry.
I do my best to remind myself how blessed I am and how my life is actually really amazing... I remind myself that I am surrounded by loving family and friends and we have a really tight support system. My girls and I have been through waaaaaaaaaay waaaaaaaaaay worse than this and I need to put my life back into perspective. I am a naturally optimistic person and it goes against my every belief to be so angry and negative so often.

With all the changes I've made, I am still being a bad wife.

My love and I have been relationship rule breakers since day one...
We have matching tattoos with each other's names... Oh yeah, we are that confident
He saw me in my wedding gown quite a few times (just not on our wedding day before I walked down the aisle... That was almost a disaster... Wait... Sidetracked, my bad)
My ex came to our wedding ( we would have invited his but she was being mean at the time)
We've gone to bed angry
I'm sure there's millions more but those are the biggies.

But with all that, we are stuck like glue.
We have been through really scary stuff with the molar pregnancy and chemo. We have had to make some really hard choices about our old house.
And the biggest, hardest has been the difficulties with family.
And we're still here... Together.
There were moments where it was rocky, I'm not going to lie. There were times in the very begining where we almost went our seperate ways ...
But not now....

I have really been a bitch (there's no nice word for it) lately and my husband still looks at me like I am the most beautiful woman in the world. He still has the stars in his eyes and I know that they reflect mine.

So, My Love, thank you.
Thank you for smiling through my fits.
Thank you for holding me when I cry.
Thank you for telling me I'm beautiful even when I am wearing tore up sweats and haven't brushed my hair.
Thank you for still holding my hand even when you fear I'll bite it.
Thank you for staying with me and loving me.
Thank you for hearing the same lame story over and over.
Than you for not pushing when I've had a hard day at work.
Than you for caring about my day.
Thank you for listening.
Thank you for being mine.

I don't know what I did to deserve such an amazing man but I am not going to let some stupid anxiety ruin it!

Since this has been a little hard to write, I am ending it with a funny:

Somebody Stop Him

Look how sweet he is, chewing on his brother's toy, all gooey with drool and happiness:

Followed by his flailing hands and stomping feet rage after Mean Ass Mommy takes "his" toy away...
Little Chunko, it had spikes on it and I like that you have two eyes. I'm sorry I had to get all parental on you and I'm sorry you had to learn that even though you are 98% Taurus (2% Gemini) you don't always get your way.
Sorry for the cruddy cell phone pictures...
I broke my camera
I dropped it
And I am devastated
I loved that camera
I cried
I ate chocolate
I cried some more
We're taking it tomorrow to our camera guy in hopes that he can fix it. He fixed my old 35mm when no one else seemed to figure it out, so we're crossing our fingers.
If he can't work his camera magic then we already know which camera we're going to replace it with.
When we got stuck with our original camera escapades we fell in love with the camera we found and we'll need a cheaper replacement until we can save up for a real camera (ie: Upgrade!).
These adorable little outfits were part of our shopping spree and he makes the cutest pumpkin ever!! Sorry mommies of other pumpkins but that's how it is.

But I am getting sidetracked from the main point here...
Yesterday we were cleaning and dealing with our shower drama
(*sidenote: Our shower has been broken since we moved in. First it was scalding hot burn your skin off, then it dripped a lot, then it had no pressure, then it had no hot water at all*)
I was sorting through the clothes that Chunko has outgrown (again) and putting them neatly away. Chunko thought that it was more fun to pull them back out and drool on them or crawl and get stepped on by the plumber so I put him in his crib to play (for safe keeping and my sanity). He did not agree that the crib was where he needed to be, so he cried and I gave him a binky.
I'm sitting on the floor next to the crib and I'm folding when his binky is fired back at me and hits my head. I look up and there is he is... All 31 inches of chunkylicious baby... Standing and yelling at me...

My crazy baby has learned how to pull himself up to a standing position and hold himself there. He can even hold on with one hand. That's an eighth month old trick!! That is not five month old appropriate!!

Of course now it is favorite playtime game.
Mommy lay on your side so I can climb up and stand and pull your hair.
Daddy bring up your knees so I can stand next to you and smack you in the face repeatedly.
He does it All The Time!!!
I cannot have a walking 7 month old people! It is just not acceptable!

On the plus side he is down to only gaining a pound a month and not three... So he's barely 23 pounds now but he's catching up on his heigth. So he'll be ginormous and not gargantuan... Yay?

October 17, 2010

Spooktacular

With Halloween creeping up our a**...
*Ahem*
Let's try this again...

I am so frickin excited for Halloween this year!!!!!!
I had to miss Geekers first Trick-Or-Treating (due to being a single mommy and having to make the money) so I am just a basket case of excitement over being there for Chunko's!
He's breaking tradition and I was ok with it until my sister pointed it out to me and now we might have to do a costume change at some point just so we can say he wore it...
I have a video of Geekers going to a couple of doors and knocking and getting his first treats... Except it was dark and all you can see is his little light up shoes blinking at the bottom of the screen... Still cute...

We've known what Chunko was going to be since before we were pregnant... We had it all planned out and I can't wait to take him with all the other kids. He's such a little social butterfly and wants to be with all the other kids so this will be Heaven for him!

Got bored and did a little costume research:
With as much as Chunko eats, it would have been nice if he was a little bag of money, lol!! It's not something we would use but it's cute.... kind of

With our sick senses of humor this would have been awesome!
Not for $65 (yeah American dollars) but still so funny (and so us)!!

I would have loved to see Snack Cake in this one.... Chunko is obsessed with her and so it would have awesome if she was a little ice cream treat!

My love is soooo lucky we didn't have a baby girl... I'm still (partially) debating doing it for Chunko... Becasue if we had a little baby girl, she'd be...

Baby GaGa

Oh yeah, you're dying from the cuteness

And now... The costume I totally wish I had seen before we selected and fell in love with our current one...
The Main Dish (so to speak):

 Turkey Baby!!!

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Oh man I am cracking myself up!!!

I can't wait til all the little ones are all dressed up and we can take them trick-or-treating!!
Only 2 more weeks!!!

And then Geekers *sniff* 8th birthday party....
I am so not getting started on that... I am already tearing up...

My Boys

I am so blessed...
I was just going through some pictures on my phone and I came across these two and it struck me...
I am one of the luckiest moms out there.
Chunko is amazing! He's so smart and he's learning more every day....
After mastering crawling and getting bored with zooming around our house, he's decided to start practicing pulling himself into a standing position.
While I am so proud and excited with each new advancement he accomplishes...
 My baby's getting too big!!!
He's wearing 12 month clothes and has outgrown the mass majority of baby toys (ie: exersaucers and walkers).
We managed to grab a cheap exersaucer and he likes it but he'd rather stand on the outside and make you hold him while he plays....
We went shopping for a new walker for the crazy baby and we really wanted to get him the Combi walker or at least the car one cause he looked for adorable riding in it but he was too tall for it. Even at it's highest setting his legs were bent and awkward and unfortunately he only gets bigger.... So we got him a Jeep walker... It's not as cute as we I wanted but it was the tallest and he really likes to chew on the steering wheel.

Thanks to some amazing (super uber dooper amazing) people in our lives we were given a gift card for Babies R Us and we got to go shopping!!!!!!
It was so much fun!!!
The practical part of me was freaking out over how much we spent and how it should have been used for diapers or formula as he got older... But it was so much fun just to be able to pick out stuff we liked and not worry about the price... So to these loving people we say thank you....
THANK YOU!!!!!!

And then there's my Geekers... Such a little softy but extremely smart. We are so fortunate that he can go to a school where everyone knows him (and us) and we know he's not only safe but the teacher knows him and keeps us up to date on his learnings. He's the second top speller and the second best at math in his class... I have a feeling we'll be seeing our third spelling bee this year... He doesn't mind the competition of having a kid smarter than him, he actually enjoys the challenge... How amazing is that?!!?

He's feeling a little unloved right now as the baby is requiring more of our attention so we'll be dedicating a little more "big brother" time for him. It's hard when the baby keeps disappearing and we have to make dinner and finish homework and yada yada yada.... Sometimes I wish I could be a stay-at-home mom! I know we could afford it but I just don't have the mindset for it. I can't stay home day in and day out, with nothing better to do than clean and cook and tend to the kids... Just can't do it! I miss my babies all the time but I love my job so much!
I guess we'll work it out, we've managed to juggle and balance everything else so I'm sure we can do it as soon as we find the right flow...

I love my life!!!
I adore my kids!!!
I love my husband soooo much...
And I am blessed with so many wonderful people in my life!!

(So what if the last part was a little bit of bragging...)

Toesies!!

The other day I'm in Target (buying everything in sight) and pushing the Chunko along in his stroller.
People are passing by and gigling and saying things like "Awwww" and "How cute"... Usual stuff... Strangers adore the chunkster...
I don't think too much of it, like I said, it's normal...
We've been there for an hour (shop shopping ooh shop shopping) when this couple pass by and belly laugh. I'm a little put off. I don't think my baby is funny looking. He's adorable and squishy but not laughter inducing. So I look down and see my baby boy singing.... With his whole foot shoved in his mouth!!!! The whole thing is in his mouth, all the way up to his heel!!!

Don't believe me?

This was after he was done singing around his foot and just wanted to bite his big toe but you can see how strange he's becoming...

Gotta add...
I made THE greatest most perfectest cupcakes ever!!!! They were soft, moist and perfect!! They weren't dry, they weren't undercooked. They were TO DIE FOR!!
I know... I'm the best... Love me... Worship me

Kate's Hair

I want it...

I'm going to get my hair cut soon and I'm going to see if there's anyway I can manipulate my hair to do this...
But if not, I'm going to hate her.
I don't rock the whole bangs look very well, but maybe there's a slim chance I can trick my hair into thinking it wants to sit like this? Maybe?

4 Months Already?!?!?

I cannot believe that our Chunko is already 4 months? Where the heck did the time go? Didn't I just give birth last month?

Chunko is such the cutey and I love him sooooo much!! He's just breezing past all the milestones and kicking their butts!
He has learned to get on all fours and rock... Now he's learned to add a leg shuffle. The only reason why he isn't zooming around our house like a mad crazy baby is because he hasn't learned that he needs to move his hands, too. We haven't showed him that part yet, and we'll let him figure it out on his own since we've already had to baby-proofed most of the house (which is very hard to do when you're moving and there is stuff EVERYWHERE). He still screams in frustration when he can't move like he wants to and I have a feeling that I'll soon be posting that he learned to crawl and hasn't stopped since. Literally from the time he wakes up, he's up on his knees trying to move.

He loves, loves, loves, loves, loves, loves, loves, loves, loves bathtime. He could be in a screaming rage and as soon as he hears the water turn on he's quiet and waiting. He doesn't care if it's a bath, swim time or even just kicking his legs in the sink, he's ready. Total water baby! His favorite game is chew on the cup (the one we use to rinse him with) and grab the water as it comes out of the faucet. He is determined to catch it one day. He wants to drink the water but hasn't learned to cup his hands (thankfully!) but he has learned to dip his hand an lick the water off of it. I don't really like taking baths with him, it's bad for my ego. He likes to float on his belly, lift up my shirt and chew on my tummy fat. I've explained to him several times that mommy's fat rolls are not chew toys, he's ignored me so far. He is teething now and he is cracked out over Orajel. It's helping so far but I am sure we'll need stronger stuff once he really gets rolling.

We've worked up to occasionally eating solid foods as a meal. We slacked off for a bit because we got too busy but he has explained to us that we either give him our food or his but a bottle will no longer suffice for dinner. He used to only eat a third or less but now he's up to more than half.... This little piggy...

He doesn't purr when he's eating a bottle as much as he used to. So sad too because it was really cute. He doesn't really favor talking (like goo goo ga ga) but more of a La la looooo la. Almost like he's singing to us. He does stare intently when we talk to him as moves his lips as we do, but no sound yet. We're okay with it because we don't really need our 6 month old yelling "More food Ma" every hour because he thinks he's starving or something.

He loves patty cake but not twinkle twinkle. He's okay with Hush little baby but not little piggy. He's very picky as to what mood's he's in.

I love his smile and the way he lights up when he sees us. I love his snuggles and especially love that he's back to sleeping through the night! He's still ramming his head and scooting all over the place but he won't keep doing it and doesn't cry when he does. You've got to take what you can, right?

My PPD has mellowed out a lot, but I think a lot of it has to do with us moving and not having to worry so much. Things are slowing down and getting into a rhythm and I'm able to adapt a little easier. I still cry on a dime but my snappish anger is less and less.
Of course don't ask my love that because I'm sure he still thinks I'm a raging b....
Oops, look at the time, got to run!!

Business Hours Only

So today our power went out at work... For 2 hours!!!
We have people coming in and we have no lights and no computers and no way to look up what needs to be looked up before they come in.
Funny enough the power came back on right as they pulled up into the drive... It's like they knew or something. Spooky.

So of course we have to call the power company to find out why we've got nada. I call four numbers all of which give me a busy signal. The main 1-800 number told me it was disconnected... and yes I dialed the number correctly (I'm not that blond).

So I finally find a phone number and call it and get the automated dude. And it went like this:
AD: Thank you for calling NV Energy, we're closed right now but if you call back between our regular business hours of 8-5 we'll be happy to assist you
Me: It's 10:15 am!! (mumbles as redialing)
AD: Thank you for calling...
Me: (Pushes "0")
AD: If you are calling regarding a power outage press "2"
Me: (Pushes "2")
AD: Enter your phone number for the location you are calling regarding
Me: (Enters)
AD: Enter your address for the location you are calling regarding
Me: (Enters)
AD: I'm sorry, that number and address do not exist
Me: Huh? Yes it does
AD: If you would like to call back during our regular business hours...
Me: No!!!!
AD: If you would like to leave a message for our emergency line then one of our representatives will call you back when they damn well please at their earliest convenience
Me: (Frantically pushing "0" to talk to a living person)
AD: Thank you, our representative will return your call during regular business hours and at their earliest convenience *click*
Me: But I didn't leave a call-back number!!!!!

So I officially hate Automated Dude.
Come to find out there was a huge blackout in this area and lots of citizens were mad and calling... Which explains the busy signal but why is it that the number I called sent me to Reno? I dialed the main number!!! Ugh!!!
Our power's back on and it's all good but really wtf?

Oh and just to add... Nothing, I mean nothing, is scarier than having to go potty in a huge, pitch black bathroom with only your weak cell phone light as a guide. My finger kept blocking the light and I'd jump thinking that some bathroom poo monster was going to eat me. Or my elbow hit the stall wall and I damn near ran out thinking that the serial killer fresh from his grave was trying to kill me... I totally need to lay off the scary movies... I am so lame
