Of course I was totally at the midnight premier of Breaking Dawn and I had such a blast.
To begin with, we met at my (frickin awesome) Mother-In-Law's friend's house for a little pre-Breaking Dawn party including Twi-Hard goodie bags and nummy foods. Red velvet cake with Breaking Dawn icing? Oh yes, please! Can I get a side of Jacob over here?
Then we headed over to the theatre, all 16 of us, to snag our place in line. We all took turns waiting in line while the others watched Eclipse in the food court.
While we waited in line, there was this great group of girls and one was selling Scentsy products. We nosed in and started playing with all her samplers (*note to self: Whiteout is a super amazing scent and you totally want it*). It was super dorky but it was a lot of fun bonding with other girls geeking over Twilight.
We waited for about 2 hours in the movie line but then they let us in and we nabbed our seats. This stupid party had two premium rows reserved and we've all decided that next year that will be ours! Oh yeah, we're like that! We still had great seats (because we were like tenth in line) and we occupied the rest of our waiting time with playing iPhone games (but not on my sister's new hussie phone that hits on married men, she didn't get that yet). It was really smart of us to keep our brains active with word games so that we didn't pass out from sheer exhaustion. My (coolest ever) sister-in-law and I were texting each other and it got pretty heated but I think I helped her see the dark side:
B (<--- My sister-in-law): TEAM EDWARD!!!!!
Me: You misspelled Jacob
B: Wait I just heard that Jacob is gay
Me: Makes him more fun and open to new things... and he can go shopping with me
B: True but Edward even dresses better
Me: Cause Edward is a girl... Hello glitter
B: That' cause he's so smoking hot he sparkles
Me: Edward's smoking cause he's flaming
B: No he's just hot... Jacob is a girl
Me: A very sexy girlB: (dead silence of her acceptance of defeat)
So after converting people to Team Jacob, playing games, gossiping about women who look bitchy and make us want to punch them, gossiping in general, some slight reading and other mind blowing activities that we stayed occupied with for 5 hours... The movie started.
No wait.
I'm sorry. After 5 hours of waiting, the previews started... After 5 more hours of previews (some of which looked really awesome!! Can we say HUNGER GAMES!?!) then the movie started...
It was the best of the Twilight saga so far!! It was pretty decent. They toned down the make-up but Bella still twitches like she's jonesing for her next hit. The wolf pack scene (I know you know which one) was lame and totally hysterical. I kept thinking of Beverly Hills Chihuahua or something. Overall, though, it was good. I wouldn't have done all this alone to see it but it was a lot of fun going with the girls and just being total geeks.
Except for the people behind us... I so did not wait 1 year, 5 hours and 15 mins to listen to your greasy nasty butt dig into a bag of chips for two hours!!! It was so much worse because her chip bag was in a paper bag in a grocery bag!!! Could you make more noise? Oh, you can? By drinking a water bottle and sucking on it so hard that it cracks? Oh and then your singing with the songs and annoying horse laugh? Oh great, just great! Normally, I can be rather patient with movie a-holes that think it's okay to bring in outside food and smack on it during the movie... but this was too much. Didn't you just wait 5 hours to see this movie, just like the rest of us? You were right behind us in line, so you've been here just as long as we have. You couldn't have eaten your noisy food before the movie started??? That's why you're fat, is because you eat greasy chips and drink soda at 1am.
Okay, so that was mean. I'm sorry but they were being mean first.
I'm surprised that my (awesome) Mother-In-Law didn't jump the seats and tackle her after the first 5 minutes of this chick eating. She can be a real movie Nazi but she just kept turning to them and asking them to put the chip bag down.
And they did, for a while but apparently the call of the chip bag was too much for this girl because ten minutes later she was trying to open it up again and grubbing on it.
After the movie we're telling the other 16 people in our group about these noisy chip people and of course, who should walk by? Noisy chip people themselves. They knew we were talking about them. Then as we were waiting at the light to drive away into Twilight oblivion, they pulled up next to us!! I was gesturing so wildly that I think I scared her. She locked her car doors and refused to look in our direction. Oops. Maybe they'll think twice before rudely chowing down on chips in a packed theatre!
All in all it was a long night spent with amazing people to go see a fun movie... Love you all!!!
